so I got a kind of an interesting thought about what is a good benefit from AI by listening to this interview about how AI is making our education system dumber because people are cheating. So the people in the interview are talking about how students are cheating when they are writing, but at minute 15 one of the guests talks about the defense as a style of proving that you know some material as an interesting way of my passing the cheating, which is in writing, and I think he’s out to something.

and I think that that’s because the style of using oration to defend would you know may have a comeback because of the noun fact that people are using AI to summarize and synthesize when they write and I think like one of my Professor friends has always told me or maybe even two of my Professor friends have always told me you’re guaranteed that at least one person is learning something and that is the teacher or the professor. And I know that through the majority of my schooling high school plus college plus graduates degree most of it was all about taking tests or submitting things in writing and almost none of it was the type of defense that you would do that I think people used to do before oral presentations.

so yes, I think most people agree that if you use AI to do the hard work for you, you’re going to be very dumb and the possible carrot and stick here. Is that at least for school if you use the stick for the point of view of your are no longer able to cheat because submitting in writing is no longer allowed and you must now show verbally that you understand something or at least that you can convince somebody that you understand something, then the oral defense would indeed be a very cool surprise side benefit to AI.
